Our verdict

Scapia is a standout for Indian travellers: a credit card with zero forex markup and no annual fee is rare in India. The reward points on travel spends add genuine value. Reward redemption is limited to Scapia's own travel platform. International credit card spending is currently TCS-exempt per CBDT circular — verify current rules as TCS policy can change. For pure fee savings on a credit card, it's one of the best options available in India right now.

Full review

Scapia is an Indian fintech credit card launched in 2022 by EaseMyTrip (one of India's largest online travel booking platforms) in partnership with Federal Bank. The Scapia Federal Bank Credit Card is positioned as a zero-forex-fee travel credit card for Indian cardholders, targeting the growing segment of Indian travellers who want credit card benefits — reward points, EMI options, purchase protection — combined with the foreign transaction savings that standard Indian credit cards rarely offer.

The zero forex fee proposition is the headline feature: unlike most Indian credit cards that charge 3.5% on international transactions, the Scapia card charges zero foreign transaction markup. International spending is converted at the Visa network rate with no additional bank surcharge, making it directly comparable to cards like Niyo Global (which uses a debit/prepaid model) but with the added benefits of a credit line.

The Scapia rewards programme is tied to the EaseMyTrip booking ecosystem: cardholders earn Scapia coins on spending, which are most valuable when redeemed for flight and hotel bookings on EaseMyTrip's platform. This creates a closed-loop rewards system that is most valuable for frequent EaseMyTrip users. Coins can also be redeemed for statement credits, though at a less favourable rate.

Airport lounge access via Visa's Lounge Key programme is included on eligible spending tiers. The credit card also provides EMI conversion on transactions above a threshold — useful for Indian travellers managing large international purchases like international trip packages.

Federal Bank, the banking partner, is a well-established Tier 2 Indian scheduled commercial bank regulated by the RBI, providing regulatory credibility behind the fintech-branded product.

For Indian credit card users who travel internationally regularly and want to eliminate the 3.5% forex surcharge while earning travel-relevant rewards, Scapia is one of the better-positioned options in the Indian credit card market as of 2026. The primary limitation is that reward redemption value is highest within the EaseMyTrip ecosystem, so its value proposition is strongest for existing EaseMyTrip users.

  • Zero forex markup — no foreign transaction fee
  • No annual fee for life
  • Reward points on travel and international spending
